The Romans believed a vein ran from the ring finger to the heart — vena amoris, the vein of love. This ring carries a stone the earth spent a very long time making.
The Stone
A 2.65 carat cornflower blue sapphire with natural silk inclusions — fine, feathery threads inside the stone that scatter light the way no treatment can replicate. Cornflower blue is the most prized color in sapphires: vivid, saturated, neither too dark nor too pale. The silk inclusions are a geological signature. They are the stone's proof of origin. This one came from the earth that way, and it was chosen because of them, not in spite of them.
The Metal
18k grey gold — a rare alloy most jewelers never work with. It wears with a cool, almost architectural presence. Recycled and conflict-free. Hand-finished in a Brooklyn studio.
The Setting
The Iris. A heavy, architectural band with a commanding presence. Designed to hold significant stones without competing with them.
The Details
One maker. One studio. One ring.
