Boudica Aquamarine Necklace
Regular price $2,500.00The Romans believed a vein ran from the ring finger directly to the heart — vena amoris, the vein of love. Tesia Alexandra has built her work around that idea. The Boudica Aquamarine Necklace is for the person who knows the difference between blue and this blue — the particular blue of cold water at great depth, lit from inside.
The Stone
Aquamarine is a beryl — the same mineral family as emerald, but colored by iron instead of chromium. The blue is not surface; it is structural, running through the crystal lattice in every direction. This stone was selected for the clarity of its color: not the pale watery blue of commercial aquamarine, but the deeper, more saturated tone that comes from carefully chosen rough. In 14k rose gold, it is oceanic.
The Metal
14k rose gold. Recycled and conflict-free. Hand-finished in Brooklyn by one maker. The warmth of rose gold sits in conversation with the cool of the stone — neither wins. That tension is the piece. The necklace comes with an 18 inch 14k gold chain, 1.6mm medium weight with a polished finish — substantial enough to wear alone, refined enough to layer.
The Setting
The Boudica setting was designed to hold a stone the way a queen wears a crown — with intention, not ornamentation. Open gallery. Clean lines. The stone is the subject.
