The Stone
Tourmalinated quartz is not one mineral but two: clear quartz crystal that grew around — or alongside — needles of black tourmaline, which were then encased within the crystal as it formed. The result is a stone that contains its own internal landscape. Black needles float suspended in clarity, visible from every angle, going nowhere. This is a stone that makes you look twice, then again. No two are identical.

The Metal
14k gold. Recycled and conflict-free. Hand-finished in Brooklyn by one maker. The setting keeps the focus on the interior of the stone, which is where everything interesting is happening. The necklace comes with an 18 inch 14k gold chain, 1.6mm medium weight with a polished finish — substantial enough to wear alone, refined enough to layer.
